Amit Itelman

Amit Itelman began his theater career 20 years ago at the HBO Workspace and he is the founding artistic director of The Steve Allen Theater (2003-2011) where he continues to curate.

Itelman directed and premiered Max Maven Thing in Person, Aye Jaye Carny Trash; Janet Klein and her Borcht Belt Babies, Mary Lynn Spreads her Legs, and he directed the haunted house of Hollywood Hellhouse. His Horror-comedy short film, the Final Kiss, stars Dave Foley and Scott Thompson from the Kids in the Hall. He has staged a Black Mass, a Knights of Pythias magic lantern initiation ritual, and multiple performances with Geese.

Shows Itelman premiered at the Steve Allen Theater include The Kids in the Hall reunion, Nevermore, the Beastly Bombing, Resbox, Playing with Micucci, Re-Animator the Musical, and many others.

Itelman is a musician who has played with Monster Magnet, The Ettes, Exene Cervenka from X, London May from Samhain, and Dave Lovering from the Pixies. He is in a spook-a-billy band, the Tulsa Skull Swingers
